IPEX Solutions is pleased to announce its newly confirmed capability to recover vanadium economically from selected fly ash resources. A matrix of roasting and leach parameters was evaluated at bench laboratory scales to identify cost-optimal conditions for best extraction of vanadium. Results from the first phase of this investigation already demonstrated acceptable mobilisation of vanadium at attractive unit cost and more work is being undertaken to improve these already favourable outcomes.
The IPEX team is increasingly confident a total recovery of >85% will be achievable from vanadiferous fly-ash resources at compelling economics. The leachate obtained from this material is well-suited for further beneficiation to a range of high-purity vanadium products including VRB electrolyte using the thoroughly proven ion exchange capabilities of X GROUP.
